What do home inspectors do? Home inspectors typically inspect a home for a buyer before their home purchase is finalized. A home inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible parts of a home. In addition, components like faucets, toilets, furnaces and air conditioners are operated to test for proper operation. See What Is a Home Inspection for more details.

How do you become a home inspector? In Ohio you have to obtain a home inspector license from the State of Ohio before performing home inspections. In general, two classes ( a two week class and a one week class ) are required and you have to pass a national standardized home inspection test (the National Home Inspector Examination). For effective home inspector training you need hands on training so you can touch and see items you will be learning about. All of our courses are 100% in person face to face classes at our classroom facilities located in Columbus Ohio.

Pre-Licensing 80 hour Course – In addition to meeting Ohio's home inspector licensing requirements, our 80 hour course is designed to prepare you to pass the National Home Inspector Exam and give you the practical knowledge needed to perform professional home inspections and run your home inspection business. Pre-Licensing 40 hour Curriculum of Experience Course – Our 40 hour experience course meets Ohio's pre-licensing requirements. We will visit area homes where you will perform mock inspections with the help of our instructors. We will then review these inspections in detail giving you valuable real world experience.
