80 Hour Ohio Home Inspector Licensing Course

     This is a high quality in-person instructor led course. From the foundation to the roof, this course teaches you about all the components and systems of a home. We discuss in detail the deficiencies and defects home inspectors look for and report on. Our classroom contains an array of house parts and components for hands-on, visual learning.

In addition to meeting Ohio's home inspector licensing requirements, this 80 hour course is designed to prepare you to pass the National Home Inspector Exam and give you the practical knowledge needed to perform professional home inspections and run a successful home inspection business. 40 Hour Home Inspection Interactive Experience Course

      Prerequisite: You must complete the 80 Hour Licensing Course from us or another education provider before starting this course.

This is our in-person hands on home inspection field experience course with an emphasis on report writing. You will be performing home inspections on real world homes with an instructor and writing inspection reports with the software of your choice. Inspection reports will then be reviewed and discussed with an instructor in a classroom setting. Writing solid inspection reports is a huge part of being a successful home inspector and is a neglected topic in most home inspector training programs. This course is an approved home inspector licensing class for the State of Ohio.

This template gives you a jump start on writing reports with Spectora that match Ohio's standards of practice and best report writing practices. You are NOT required to use Spectora in class. Use the inspection report software of your choice.

Home Inspector Peer Review

     A Peer Review Inspection is you inspecting a home on your own that has already been inspected by a State of Ohio approved licensed home inspector. To pass the Peer Review Inspection, you are required to identify at least seventy percent of the material defects with the property. This is the final training requirement to get your Ohio Home Inspector License. We always schedule Peer Review Inspections on Friday the same week as the 40 Hour Home Inspection Interactive Experience class allowing you to complete both in one week.

Spectora Report Template

     Spectora is top of the industry home inspector report writing software. A template is a blank report used as a starting point for all your reports. We have developed a report template to use with Spectora that complies with Ohio law, complies with Ohio's standards of practice, and is formatted to meet report best practices taught by Home Inspector Training Institue. All of the formatting and configuring are done. All you add are your deficiency writeups. Here is an excerpt from a sample report.
