State of Ohio Approved Pre-License Class
80 Hour Home Inspector Pre-Licensing ClassOur 80 hour classroom course teaches you about the components and systems of a home and the deficiencies and defects home inspectors look for and report on. This is one of the required courses in the State of Ohio to receive a home inspector license. This course is designed to prepare you to pass the National Home Inspector Examination and give you the practical knowledge needed to perform professional home inspections and run your home inspection business. This in-person classroom training, including hands-on learning with an array of house components in our classroom, is the best way to gain and retain the knowledge you need to be a successful home inspector. Text books are included. |
State of Ohio Approved Pre-License Class
Prerequisite: You must have completed (or be close to have completed) the 80 Hour Pre-Licensing class from us or another education provider before starting this course.
40 Hour Home Inspector Experience ClassThis is our in person field experience class. This class is one of the licensing requirements in the State of Ohio to receive a Home Inspector License. It is designed to give you hands on experience performing home inspections. This course is conducted at real world homes located near our classroom in Columbus Ohio. You will be performing home inspections on these homes with an instructor and writing inspection reports with the software of your choice. The reports for each inspection will then be reviewed and discussed with an instructor in a classroom setting. Writing solid inspection reports is a huge part of being a successful home inspector and is a neglected topic in most home inspector training programs. In addition to practical field experience, this class has a strong emphasis on proper report writing. This better prepares you to do paid inspections once licensed. New: This course now includes a copy of our Spectora report template (a $149 value). This template gives you a jump start on writing reports with Spectora's software that match Ohio's standards of practice and best report writing practices. You are NOT required to use Spectora in class. Use the inspection report software of your choice. See our Inspection Report Writing Software Guide Class size is limited to 10 students for optimal learning. We always schedule Peer Review Inspections on Friday the same week as the 40 Hour Home Inspector Experience Class allowing you to complete both in one week. |
Peer Review InspectionPrerequisite: You must have completed the 80 Hour Home Inspector Pre-Licensing Class and the 40 Hour Home Inspector Experience Class from us or another education provider before completing a Peer Review Inspection. If you take a 40 hour inspector experiential class, a Peer Review Inspection is also required for licensing. A Peer Review Inspection is you inspecting a home on your own that has already been inspected by a State of Ohio approved licensed home inspector. To pass the Peer Review Inspection, you are required to identify at least seventy percent of the material defects with the property. We always schedule Peer Review Inspections on Friday the same week as the 40 Hour Home Inspector Experience Class allowing you to complete both in one week. |
